QUESTION POSED ON: 17 May 2007
I work with a laptop between two offices, of the same company. Each office has its own domain and I've been changing network IDs at each office. Is there a more efficient way to do this? (I need access to network drives and shared files at each location.)

EXPERT RESPONSE
There's a program called NetSwitcher that automates the process of changing network IDs. While it was mainly designed to allow people to change network settings on the fly, it can also change many other system settings without needing a reboot. It's free for evaluation and a single license costs about $20.
