QUESTION POSED ON: 28 June 2005
Is it possible to change an enterprise key of Windows XP (SP2) into a personal key? I am aware of the method of changing an enterprise key into another enterprise key.

EXPERT RESPONSE
No, the key hashes are different for retail, OEM, and enterprise versions of Windows. If your using an enterprise licensed version of XP, you have to provide a key based on the enterprise algorithm. Likewise, retail versions of XP Professional will not activate with an enterprise key.
