QUESTION POSED ON: 22 November 2005
When Windows XP starts up, does it load all the files it needs to get itself to a standard desktop in a linear order? If so, how can I check the order of those files?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
Windows does load processes in a specific order because of system dependencies. The order may vary of course, depending on your system and registry settings. A detailed explanation of the XP boot sequence is available at: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prmc_str_xzrd.asp.
